Two Moon Art House & Café

Our favorite café on the planet is Two Moon Art House & Café, where we have a monthly residency show. At our residency shows, established acts from the Subtle Soup label and community have a chance to play to an intimate crowd and take brave artistic risks.

About Two Moon: Joyce Pisarello and Danielle Mazzeo met while working in the Manhattan political scene where they learned they didn’t like shaping public policy as much as shaping dough. After many conversations about how to best combine their love of ice cream sandwiches with their hopes for world improvement, Two Moon was born.

Akin Studios

In 2009, Bennington College grads Matt Scott, Sam Clement, and Jason Beck started Akin Studios.  The humble studio lived its infant years in Bennington, Vermont. It now resides on the top floor of the newly renovated and restored arts and community center, The Hoosick Falls Armory in Hoosick Falls, N.Y.

Having graduated in the ripe and musically fruitful late 2000's, the trio found themselves quickly immersed in a number of musical projects centered in NYC. It soon became apparent that they needed a home base. With the audio engineering experience of Jason Beck (The Magnetic Fields, Kris Gruen, Pat Hull, Old Robes), and the broad and rich musical background of the group, Akin Studios was born.

Now, Akin is expanding beyond its "family" and is offering recording and music production services to the local communities and to musicians traveling from metropolitan areas in search of quiet, uninterrupted inspiration.

The PIMA M.F.A. is a cutting-edge graduate program in collaborative, experimental, and multidisciplinary performing arts production. Students collaboratively create performances that draw upon and hybridize theater, performance art, dance, music, puppetry, and unnamed forms.

Bringing together experienced artists from a wide range of backgrounds, this intensive two-year program teaches interdisciplinary collaboration as a skill in itself, and multimedia computer programming as a tool for both practical production and collaboration.
